Many baseball franchises have called more than one city home. The Athletics, for instance, began their journey in 1901 as one of the American League's charter teams, the Philadelphia Athletics. For over half a century, they were a cornerstone of Philadelphia baseball, managed for their first 50 years by the legendary Connie Mack and winning multiple World Series championships in the 1910s and again in 1929 and 1930. However, the team eventually left Philadelphia and headed west in 1955, becoming the Kansas City Athletics for 13 seasons before making their final move to Oakland in 1968.

Similarly, the Braves have a long and storied history that predates their time in Atlanta. The franchise's roots trace back to Boston, where they were founded in 1871 as the Boston Red Stockings and were known by several other names before officially becoming the Boston Braves. After struggling with fan support for many years, the team relocated to Milwaukee in 1953. As the Milwaukee Braves, they enjoyed a period of success, including a World Series victory in 1957. This Midwestern chapter lasted until 1966, when the team moved to the South to become the Atlanta Braves. The Braves hold the unique distinction of being the only Major League Baseball franchise to win the World Series in three different home cities.
