The 1986 film "Little Shop of Horrors" is a celebrated cult classic that brilliantly combines catchy musical numbers with dark comedy and creature-feature horror. The story centers on the meek and clumsy Seymour Krelborn, a floral assistant working on Skid Row who is played with endearing charm by Rick Moranis. Seymour's mundane life is turned upside down when he discovers a bizarre and unidentified plant following a total solar eclipse. Hoping to impress his coworker and secret love interest, he names the plant Audrey II in her honor.
At first, the little plant, which Seymour affectionately calls "Twoey," brings him fame and helps revitalize the struggling flower shop. However, Seymour soon learns the plant's horrifying secret: it requires human blood to grow. As Audrey II's appetite becomes more voracious, it evolves from a small potted plant into a massive, talking, man-eating monster. Seymour, its conflicted creator, finds himself in a Frankenstein-like dilemma, struggling to control the very creation that has brought him success. The film is an adaptation of a hit off-Broadway musical, which itself was based on a non-musical 1960 B-movie directed by Roger Corman.
