The film is the 1993 political satire "Dave," which features a masterful dual performance by Kevin Kline. He portrays both the cold and adulterous U.S. President Bill Mitchell and his uncanny look-alike, Dave Kovic, a kind-hearted temp agency owner. The story is set in motion when the Secret Service recruits the unsuspecting Kovic to serve as a temporary decoy for President Mitchell during a public event.

Things take a dramatic turn when the real president suffers a severe stroke, leaving him in a permanent vegetative state. To avoid a scandal and seize power, the ruthless White House Chief of Staff, Bob Alexander (Frank Langella), and the cynical Director of Communications, Alan Reed (Kevin Dunn), convince Dave to continue the impersonation full-time. They believe they can control him, but Dave's genuine nature soon begins to influence policy and charm both the public and the estranged First Lady (Sigourney Weaver).

Directed by Ivan Reitman, "Dave" was celebrated for its warmth, clever humor, and optimistic, Capra-esque tone. It cleverly explores themes of political integrity and the impact an ordinary person can have in a position of power. The film's authenticity was boosted by cameo appearances from numerous real-life Washington insiders, journalists, and celebrities, including Chris Matthews, Larry King, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, all playing themselves.
