It sounds like a vehicle straight out of a fantasy, but this over-the-top limousine is absolutely real. The car, officially named "The American Dream," holds the Guinness World Record for the longest automobile, measuring a staggering 100 feet and 1.5 inches. Originally built in 1986 by famed car customizer Jay Ohrberg, the super-limo is based on a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado. Due to its immense length, it is hinged in the middle like an accordion bus and requires two people to drive itโone in the front and one in the rear cabin.
The vehicle's list of amenities is just as impressive as its length. As the trivia question suggests, it does indeed feature a swimming pool with a diving board, a king-sized waterbed, and a jacuzzi. Beyond that, it also includes a bathtub, a miniature golf putting green, and even a helipad that is structurally sound enough to land a small helicopter. The interior is designed to hold more than 75 people, making it more of a mobile luxury venue than a simple mode of transportation.
After falling into a state of severe disrepair for many years, "The American Dream" was rescued and given a new lease on life. Car collector Michael Dezer acquired the vehicle and funded a massive, multi-year restoration project. The car was completely rebuilt, slightly extended, and officially re-certified by Guinness World Records in 2022, ensuring its place in history as a monument to automotive excess.
